Umm yeah+ Art Book

Apart from organising the stall for armageddon, I wont be updating this page until I actually have some art to show. Hopefully soon, I'm in a bit of a busy period with uni, but when am I not busy.

We're possibly looking at organising a promotional art book for armageddon to go along with the stall(for those of you who cant make it, or dont get a spot on the stall) so pop on over to :iconarmageddon-survivors: and have your say. I think it'll be a great place to get some exposure.

Hey hey everyone.

I finally decided it was time to get net active back at my flat, so I'll be more attentive with dA. No promises on the upload front, Uni comes first and after my performance last semester I've got alot to do. Not that I did poorly, I just know I can do way better.

You may have noticed me uploading photos, I've just been experimenting and learning with the digital SLR uni lets me check out. Its kinda fun but I don't think I'll end up delving into much more photography than the mandatory class we have right now.

So, start of semester two? I've got a few new classes, Basic photography, type (fun fun), new tutors etc, and a chance to really show what I'm made of.

Things are hectic, I already have two assignment deadlines next week. But I'm alot more ontop of it than last semester.

apart from that. Anyone who's keen to work the armageddon booth, exhibiting and selling art, or just plain keen on getting in on the 'community' spirit I am trying to slowly foster, pop on over to :iconarmageddon-survivors:

What are you learning in Uni exactly? and what job oppertunitys are u looking to get into once u finish ^^

Bachelor of computer graphic design, so graphic design, which encompassess alot of different things nowadays, printed media, video, time based media, web design, 3d animation, product design, advertising.

Theres tonnes of different options in the field. Im not 100% certain which path i'll take when i finish, it'll depend on what I major in.

I'm just looking for a uni to start next year, but I'm more into physical art like making this with my hands, monster costumes and wana get into latex masks, I'll hav to look into it more

Its in Wanganui, they have a good fine arts course up here. Physical art? yeah design is about that too, but just not on the same kinda stuff as the fine arts. Theres a good school of special effects in auckland. cut above [link] , its the only one i know of but thats cause i studied there, gotta work really hard to get work out of it but it has broadened what I'm able to do with myself. Alot of that stuff is self taught stuff too, lotsa things online about it

OOo just quickly checked them out,*cut above* I never really though about make-up to study n do, and that would be alot to do with costume makin, Mmm.. looks like I still hav a bit to look up, and find the perfect course to start,,.least i got till beginning of next year, Thankz :D

specia effects makeup covers latex masks etc its the actual industry its used in.

well when i was there it was learning the process in creating molds for the creation of prosthetic peices such as latex masks, learning about foam latex/making foam latex, sculpting, molding from sculpting. Bit of airbrushing etc.
